Many of the issues of the unit reverence for life are covered in the bishops statement a consistent ethic of life

Issues in society often call people to reflect on the meaning of life and its sacredness. In the USA when a death row inmate is about to be put to death the issue of the death penalty and reverence for life is often brought up.

Reverence for Life is a key element of Catholic Social Teaching of the past 105 years.

At the basis of all reverence for life is the concept of human dignity

The sacrament of the sick has a long tradition within the Church and is a way Catholics reverence life

One of the ways that Catholics show reverence for life is by their care of the universe and the natural world

St Francis is a hero of the Church who demonstrated strong reverence for life in his actions and prayers

Voice for life - to value and protect human life

Family Life International is the only fully Catholic pro-life organisation in New Zealand, which educates, informs and provides practical assistance to pregnant women in need from the Church's perspective.  It also covers issues from before conception (i.e. IVF) through to natural death, including chastity for young people.  

Right to Life New Zealand Inc - support  the unborn, the elderly and the unwell in our society whose lives are increasingly at risk.  NZ Issues that concern Right to Life New Zealand include Abortion, Euthanasia, Living Wills, Assisted Suicide, Fetal Tissue and Embryonic Stem Cell Research, Cloning and other Bio-Ethical Issues,  Personhood, Sex Education and the destruction of social norms that create a cohesive society.

Other Christians also believe in the Holy Spirit. This is what the Catholic Church teaches as its belief.

Who is the Holy Spirit? The different names given and images (wind, fire, water) to describe the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is alive in the World. Vatican II considered the relationship between the Church and the modern world. The Holy Spirit is key to understanding this relationship.
